PostEx Tracking Glossary: Terms Explained

A quick guide to the words on a PostEx tracking page, including old Call Courier terms still found on some receipts.

Consignment Number

Your tracking number, usually 11 to 14 digits. This is what our tracker searches by. A shop’s order number is different: the shop’s own system makes it, not PostEx.

Manifest

The record made as soon as a shop books a parcel. That is why a new parcel can show “Booked” for a while before its first real scan.

Return to Origin (RTO)

Return to origin: after failed delivery tries, the parcel goes back to the shop instead of waiting.

Cash on Delivery (COD)

Cash on delivery: the rider collects the payment when handing over the parcel. PostEx can also pay eligible sellers part of the cash early, but that is separate from tracking.

Business Suite

PostEx’s system for sellers to book parcels, track them and manage payments. It is separate from this independent tracker.

Legacy Call Courier CN

A tracking number from before Call Courier became part of PostEx. Our tracker accepts it, but we cannot confirm whether every old number still works.

Exception

A general status for anything that stopped delivery, such as a phone nobody answered, a wrong address or a refused parcel. It usually needs a phone call, not just waiting.

Proof of Delivery

The signature or name recorded at handover. Customer care checks this first when a parcel says Delivered but you did not get it.
